Appearance:
He has a very strange body. He is obvious very masculine and fit, but at the same time he seems very effeminate. His hair is blue and reaches and falls slightly over the left side of his face, concealing one of his gold eyes. Underneath a long white coat with an array of frightening things attached (Such as a toucher devise on his left shoulder and a skull on his right arm) he wears a tight long sleeved black shirt and a simple pair of black pants. He wears a pair of fingerless black gloves as well.

Personality:
Sinister and to the point. He has an elegant manner of speaking and always seem to know just how to push your buttons. You either matter greatly to him (As an annoyance or a companion.) Or you are simply in the way and need to be eradicated. But he is saving that for later.
He very rarely shows any emotion other then irritation or sort of humble wickedness. He often ignores people he has no interest in, until they begin to irritate him. At that point, you can pretty much depend on him to dispose of the pest.
To put Legato’s goal simply, it is to kill off all of the human species. He see’s them as a blemish on the perfect universe, and a threat to everything else in it. (He includes himself in this.)

Abilities/Weaponry:
He has the power to take control of someone's body at will, using them as his weapons. At times he also uses innocent people as messengers, using them to give a chilling message to the recipient before the messenger drops dead of terror. Considering his inclinations and capabilities, one might think there would be a bloodbath wherever he went. On the contrary, he keeps to himself most of the time, eating tasty food (he is seen eating hot dogs, pancakes, and doughnuts at various times in the series) and watching the people he wants dead as they go about what he sees as their pointless existence.

Weaknesses:
Without a doubt, he has a weakness for fine dining. Not to the point where if there is a taco about to fall on the floor he will flip out like a ninja, but enough to make him distracted. Also, his ability has trouble with exceptionally hot -headed or smug people who are full of them selves to the point of annoyance. These kinds of people sometimes have the ability to make Legato battle for control over the mind, which more often then not ends up with Legato getting fed up and leaving the person be. Legato also gets irritated rather easily by strange things, and can have moments where his emotions run wild and he cant really think straight.

History:
((Most of this I hade to make up, because there is close to no information about his past in the anime or manga.))
Legato lived his life quietly brooding and wondering his existence for a good 20 years. He watched people go about there lives completely asleep to their impact on the world around them, and he slowly grew a dark seed of hatred for creatures known as human beings. He acknowledged his species’s similarity to a parasite, and with each day of quiet observation found more and more reasons for human beings to be exterminated from the face of the universe.
At the age of 20 he met Knives, a man who wasn’t human, and who saw the same problem as Legato. He gave to Legato his brother Vash’s left arm to attach to himself in order to become something a little more then human. (This arm is why Legato can control people’s mind and body.) Since then, Legato has sworn eternal loyalty to Knives, and will do what ever it takes to help him further in his Genocide of the human race.
